Benefits of In-Person Therapy
While teletherapy has been shown to be an effective modality overall, in-person therapy is indicated in a number of situations. These include any body-based conditions such as trauma and disordered eating, any relational-based situations such as social anxiety, interpersonal conflict, or family therapy.
Video therapy does an excellent job at addressing symptoms, often providing immense relief to clients. But sitting with a real, live person is required in order to heal attachment wounds and correct maladaptive interpersonal neurobiology.
